Is mentorship a type of relationship that must happen organically or is it ok to ask for it plainly?
I just got a mentoring set up that I’m really excited about! I had worked with her before, believed we liked each other, and I messaged her asking if she would be open to mentoring me and suggested a structure (biweekly meeting where I bring some work and we look at it together)

I’ve also had more organic mentorships but this form feels much more intentional, like she can just straight up ask me what I want to work on etc whereas for others I gleaned advice through conversations
