this interview with George Clooney where he recounts his experience working with David O. Russell is batshit. And people continue to work with Russell???pic.twitter.com/muuO5NjKGC

This thread is never ending. It’s unsure of what he said or did, but David O. Russell was so “nasty” to Sally Field that he made her cry at a party…pic.twitter.com/nqCNvIJ5tX
The Clooney interview was from Playboy in June 2000. The original interview is no longer up, but you can find excerpts of it online. I pulled this particular part from a Reddit post.https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/d0mrn/george_clooney_on_david_o_russell_and_the_film/ …
Jude Law dropped out of David O. Russell’s film to do a Nolan film. Russell wasn’t jazzed about this. When he ran into Nolan at a party. He put Nolan in a HEADLOCK & proceeded to ask Nolan to give up Law to show “artistic solidarity.” Next day Law was back on Russell’s film.pic.twitter.com/Wir71z8N9k
David O. Russell sexually assaulted his trans niece. He is vile. It baffles me that anyone in Hollywood would want to work with him. How can anyone call themselves a trans ally then work with David O. Russell? This is a failure to the trans community.pic.twitter.com/P94oH9MwP2
Here’s where I found all the information about Russell’s history of abuse: - The Amy Adams quote is from an interview w/ GQ. Story by Stuart McGurk: https://bit.ly/3vM1mCi - The Christopher Nolan & Jude Law story is from NYT. Story by Sharon Waxman: https://nyti.ms/3wUGcSn
Part 2 of where I found all this information: - Daily Beast documented his abuse. Story by Amy Zimmerman: https://bit.ly/3z5EM9V - Bustle also documented his abuse. Story by Shannon Carlin: https://bit.ly/2S3Z9U6
The story about him abusing his niece was a screenshot from Wikipedia. But that article was sourced was from the Chicago Tribune: https://bit.ly/3g2qwpE
According to THR, the film already wrapped. 20th Century Studios plans to release it, but no date has been confirmed. Has 20th Century Studios released a statement yet? How on earth can they market / release this film given David O. Russell’s history?pic.twitter.com/8YJuaOXtEU
I didn’t know about David O. Russell’s history prior to yesterday. However ALL the information about his history of abuse is available online. His abuse is well documented.
Why are you enabling him, @20thcentury?
Did the cast not know before they signed on? If you knew, why did you ignore it? What did David O. Russell say or do to deem him worthy of another chance?

Annie Mumolo, the co-writer for JOY, described working on that film w/ David O. Russell as “heartbreaking.” Decisions & changes were made that went against her values. In an interview w/ Variety she said, “I can’t say too much. I guess probably because I was living in fear.”pic.twitter.com/m94sqQslaT

The interview was done by Clayton Davis in Feb 2021.
