I have tested this extensively today and it just does not work. Registering yubikeys after adding the iPhone as a key removes the iPhone. I'd be surprised if anyone has ever succeeded in logging into Google Advanced Protection on an IPhone other than with a lightning Yubikey.

That thread is about users trying to use non-Bluetooth keys on iOS. That’s not supported yet (although we’re working on it). I’d like to help debug your case though. Are you saying that you can’t enable the built-in iOS security key and use it with APP? Send me a DM plz.

This is fantastic! I will spread the word with everyone I know. Question: has risk of only having a single key changed? This new messaging implies that having a single key is okay in a way that's different from previous messaging. (I'll still recommend a second key, of course)

We now preserve your existing sessions, so if you have a phone+laptop you should be able to recover from one to the other. Backup key still recommended for emergencies. Good thought on documenting recovery; lead PM

Had some time to play with this today with an iOS device. Super slick! This is a nice addition to the available FIDO authenticators.
