A top tip I have is that you can’t be a journalist if you can’t go to outside experts and ask like “is this normal” without dismissing their telling you “no” because it just strikes you as a conspiracy against a weird insular ego cult

I think there's a certain type of journalist who has a fantasy about vindicating the falsely accused except it's actually an ego trip--which is why the actual behaviour of the alleged "victim" becomes incidental so frequently in these sorts of stories...

Interesting to see who he tries to vindicate (as opposed to any of the political prisoners or falsely accused) and against whom he directs his ire (the women whose professional experience he dismisses, and picking on psychology which he clearly thinks is "soft" ie. coded female)
