After working as a nurse for years, you would not believe how many people actually think this. I could tell you so many stories of the insane things people think our bodies can or can't do.

You should start a thread. I’d literally read it all day.
-
You sure you have that kind of time?

I'd be glad to throw down a few stories. -
I’m a stay at home mom.. I have lots of time.

"It's going to be okay, child." "But how can I go to confession if this medicine causes her to code?" She thoughtfully patted my shoulder and said, "I'll write you a note."

to be fair, what you're talking about IS the uterus' fault
-
Pfft. I blame my child for putting my uterus in such a state that it ruined my bladder. And yes I’m aware that it isn’t his fault he was in my uterus in the first place, but still.
-
You’ll resent him for the rest of his life lol
-
I mean, are you even a mother if you don’t?

Ohh that’s why men think we can hold in our period..
-
Oh wow I didn't know that was a thing. But of course it is.
-
There are many who think women only have one hole (aside from the anus), even women who have had many children and are beyond menopause. When I've had to explain it as a nurse, it makes me sad that no one, even previous OBs, have taken the time to give basic anatomy lessons.
-
When you wait at the OB doctor office there is a a picture on the wall showing you parts of your body. Why don’t they look
-
Not all have it. Keep in mind that is how *some* offices are presented NOW. Women who gave birth 30, 40, 50, 60, 70,+ years ago had very different atmospheres. Some were put to sleep to labor quietly so the staff didn't hear women screaming. Dads weren't allowed at deliveries.
-
I mean at the Gynecologist
-
I'm aware but such posters or educational art were definitely not the norm for generations before us. Even now when we have people come in for things, they are too embarrassed to look at educational pieces.
