Not sure you are right. They apparently paid $150m less than their original offer cos they knew this settlement was coming. Unless of course there is more on the way

This is absolutely insane. And also a good reason to be very concerned about third party apps gaining access to pt data and being able to directly market things to them w/o oversight like.. oh idk.. opioids. (Ps please tell me if I'm wrong in assuming this is likely).

Same as social media, 1) If service is free, then YOU'RE the product being sold to 3rd party. 2) If switching cost is non-trivial, expect 2B lured by "free," then charged for it later. EMRs are perfect example. I have told docs to avoid PF like the plague for this exact reason.
