I actually like what Virta's doing (& have a bias both ways since I started a consumer keto company after Omada). I'm a believer in the approach, I'd like to see how well their results generalize out of carefully-screened studies & into real-world populations where outcomes drop.

Virta doesn't look good. Chief Scientist Phinney is dogmatic, wrong on many aspects of his keto diet. On the board of Virta, there are mostly idiots, like Peter Attia. I actually think there will be multiple winners. They have slightly different targets & approaches--Livongo is narrow pop, low cost/intensity approach, Omada is broad pop, mod cost/intensity, Virta is narrow pop, high cost/intensity. Market is unfortunately big enough for all 3.
