Actually, no, I'm under no illusion that my opinions are rational. I just do whatever seems like a good idea at the time. It's been working out pretty great for me.

Paradoxically, anyone who claims to be more guided by rationality is almost certainly blind to how much emotion affects their judgment.

Someone who says they're totally rational, I'd agree. But if someone says they're guided by it, not so much, and the context is key. You might irrationally dislike someone. But if you're cold you put a coat on and there's nothing emotional about it.

There's a debate there, but it's not the one I was having. "I don't like Becky because..." sounds perfectly rational to whomever says it, however it sounds to the listener. Everyone "thinks" their opinions are rational is all I said.
