Obviously many employers have *not* honored this even during Covid, but I think the needle has moved and we should keep it that way. Coming to work when you’re possibly contagious with a “normal” virus or respiratory illness is also bad for everyone!

I also think mask-wearing in crowded indoor public spaces (airports/subways etc) during cold/flu season probably makes a lot of sense.

maybe we could do this every year during flu season?
-
The dramatic disparity between this flu season and every other flu season recently really highlights that basic health precautions (vaccines, masks, avoiding crowded places) when the flu is active can save a ton of lives every year

There must be mandatory sick leave for those living paycheck to paycheck
-
I’ve had that before in previous (minimum wage ofc) jobs and if you didn’t give proper 4 hours notice or find coverage yourself you weren’t allowed to use it
so it was essentially pointless. - Show replies

Also wearing masks in public if you are sick and just can’t stay home. I have not gotten even a cold in an yr.

I wouldn’t mind wearing a mask to work if I felt a little sick, I learned a lot about airborne spread through this and coughing or sneezing into your sleeve is probably not as good as simply wearing a mask.
