Do policymakers realize that without fulltime school this fall, parents are screwed and everything will fall apart? I get that it's a hard problem! I don't know the answer, but anything approaching "normal" is not possible for working parents while homeschooling.

This is the huge reality check a lot of Corona virus deniers are beginning to have to face.

The lack of attention being paid to this completely real and obvious problem is baffling. Thank you for drawing some attention to it!

Schools are NOT baby-sitters. They are Petri dishes which employ hundreds of thousands of people in the country. Parents have already had 3+ months to figure it out. They have another few weeks.

It’s not gonna happen with social distancing requirements. I’m a parent and teacher and I’m already dreading August.

Also a teacher and incredibly nervous about what is asked to do. I’ll have to be nervous about what I’m bringing into my house.

As a teacher in a windowless, crammed, public school classroom, I’m not sure how we will be able to social distance in the school environment.

the only way is dividing classes in half; groups alternate days, desks 6 feet apart, class changes staggered. Even with those measures it doesn't help working families that much.
