Even places w/ ubiquitous mask-wearing—Hong Kong, South Korea, etc—haven't achieved low-density mass-transit. How cld that be accomplished? Subways/trains/buses that come every minute during rush hour so ppl can social distance instead of being squeezed together like sardines?

The Mount Vernon choir story suggests that large crowds, especially indoors, talking loud, cheering or booing would be disastrous. Like singing in choirs shedded more virus, the sports attendee or concertgoer would raise their voice to do likewise.
