Okay. Fine. Yes. I'm finally doing it. I'm learning a Lisp. Let's see what you've got going on Clojure...

Hey , is there any way to get in line ahead of time for next year's desktop GPUs? I would be happy to put down a deposit for one today if that was an option, for example.

Welcome to your mid-40s: You now find yourself exhausted at 4p on Sunday because of the five-hour social gathering you attended on Saturday afternoon.

Continue to be beyond impressed with . It's so good at what it does that it doesn't need to do all that much to be amazing. Last time I felt this way may have been the early days of , which is about the highest praise I've got in me.

The most efficient way to totally lose faith in humanity is simply to observe people boarding a flight that's been delayed. Change my mind.
I'm at a wedding at the bar for a pre-ceremony beverage and I looked up at the mirror and there was an old person looking back at me. Clearly the mirror isn't working correctly.

I know we desktop users are a tiny fraction of the computing world. That said, I can't wait to get one of the Arc GPUs from when they land next year, simply because I'll have a high quality desktop GPU and I'll never have to think about drivers again at all.

Not sure if it's amusing or upsetting that "Let's take this offline" now just means "Let's set up a video meeting that's distinct from this video meeting".

I've never been to Berlin and sometimes when I'm lying in bed at night trying to fall asleep I think about this and it really bothers me.

I find it really impressive that #archlinux is shipping the newest available kernel *for the Raspberry Pi* as of today. And everything "just works". Such a cool way to get to poke at new features without a big $$ investment.
First stab at chicken marsala for Xmas eve dinner. Needed a little more seasoning and wine, but still damn good for a first try. Hat tip to for the excellent recipe and video how-to.

I've been using zsh for some time now, and am quite happy with it, but I just went to write my first custom autocompletion and OH MY GOD is this for real? I feel like you need PhDs in software engineering and obscure linguistics just to start reading the docs...

So having used in a few places for a few months now, I've decided I do quite like it. It's done a great job of clearly identifying the goals it's aiming for, and then reaching those goals. I should probably check out at some point soon-ish.

Just be aware that Launchpad doesn't let you pin releases to older versions. Old versions are still there, but apt will not know how to find them. This is a function of how Launchpad manages the repos, it's not something can work around.
