I’m looking forward to @UNC_BSM & @_blackcongress continuing this relationship. I want @UNC, @UNC_System, the NC General Assembly, and everyone else to know that we are HERE, we are PRESENT, and you WILL hear us. We’re going to stand together and we will make great things happen.

This semester, I’ve met and talked with several UNC admins about various concerns BSM has. Most have been very receptive, including Chancellor @KevinGuskiewicz. I’m looking forward to continuing those relationships & holding them accountable, too.

Also, reminder that the UNC Board of Governors is controlled by the GOP-led NC legislature. Grateful for @UNCYoungDems showing up today in solidarity with us. Looking forward to more progressive voters & candidates in 2020 to help mitigate the damage the GOP has done.

I’m also looking forward to @unc_bsm building relationships and working with student orgs & leaders from other universities. Because this $2.5mil settlement by the @UNC_System last week wasn’t just an attack on UNC-CH, but it was robbery from ALL of our state’s public univs

So it meant SO much to have my friend @KylahGuion from #NCAT show up today and stand in solidarity with us. The bad decisions that the UNC System and NC legislature continue to make hurt all of us. From UNC to NCAT, PWI or HBCU. It’s important for us to stand together.

I’m angry that once again a stunt like this is pulled right at the start of finals season. I should’ve been focused on studying today, not having to protest my university system ignoring my humanity. But I’m proud that students have been & are continuing to stand together.
