Interesting science & sociology of science at once. This year will clearly force an updating of our understanding of role of aerosol transmission for respiratory pathogens. PLUS it's almost text-book Kuhnian in how it's happening: resistance, "epicycling" and then paradigm shift.

How? That's a code violation...

It’s an old building (1930s). Steam radiators and window air conditioners. You can see them still in the windows from outside. I guess they could turn on the AC units in early May but that’s iffy. The building was also a “sick building.”pic.twitter.com/yF3IRZ3A52

Are you still using the N95s after being vaxxed? That seems a bit overkill. Unless you're recently vaxxed like <3 weeks ago. If so, why?

On the contrary, The American Society of Ventilation Engineers required 10 cfm per person of outside air since 1925. # of Persons determined by occupation load per SF. Increased to 15 cfm per person in 1980 & to 25 cfm per person in 1991. (1)

(1) The amount of ventilation is a compromise between Heat gain/heat loss, too much, too little ventilation is not good. For covid-19 the keys are constant ventilation, a fine particle filter, and more outdoor air. Entire systems would have to be re-designed $ revised. (2)

I'm facing the same thing here in Albuquerque in April, except we don't even get a video--just a photocopied letter from the NM Supreme Court assuring us the state court system's hygiene theater and plexiglass (!?!!) will keep us safe.

Every time I've been told by doctors that I need to be there physically, they act like I'm an irrational 5-year-old when I express concern. They tell me they wipe everything down, but when I ask about the ventilation system, they don't even answer the question.

For my doctor’s appointments I wore an N95 for the visits. I was also lucky that the offices weren’t packed with people. I’m sure tho that ventilation wasn’t great.
