99 smartphones are transported in a handcart to generate virtual traffic jam in Google Maps. Through this activity, it is possible to turn a green street red which has an impact in the physical world by navigating cars on another route!

Friday angst amidst the gloom: subtlety screaming at grocery store paper ads that came in the mail. Why have we, as a society, collectively accepted that we should cut down thousands of trees to tell people that blueberries are 29 cents cheaper than normal. Save me from this hell

DDOT has been programmatically implementing new pick-up/drop-off zones (PUDO zones) around DC. Safety increased, violations decreased. More data is needed, however, especially with urban freight delivery activity - especially as e-commerce continues to rise.

After geofence & increase in passenger load areas: - Increased driver compliance - increased TNC user satisfaction However: important to note that improving TNC access may divert trips that would otherwise take transit or walk. Cities should assess their city goals

The street curb is historically undervalued for the activity it holds - even paid parking inherently subsidizes activity. And, there is no good framework to evaluate curb options.

Telecommuting is a powerful strategy to reduce carbon emissions in transport, but that strategy has been slow growing. Why? Oftentimes its based on a lack of trust from workplace management. “How will I know you’re working?” And a great response: “how do I know now?”
