    A project typically ends up: - huge & monolithic, grown so huge it's a nightmare to maintain. - or, broken into a huge number of small components, each subtly out-of-sync with each other, that together are a nightmare to maintain. The trick is to skirt the fine line in-between.

    The gap between the leaders in online retail and those simply wanting to exist online is huge now. Ordered an item from Xmas sale and took *7 days* to ship it and a further 2 days to arrive. Total: 9 days. Amazon? Next day *or* within 2hrs if I really want it 😬

    So the UK did want free movement... just with Australia. Not the EU. But Australia has rejected it. Now what was all that Brexit preaching about ‘no discrimination’ in immigration? That appears not to be what our govt were pursuing...

    Interestingly: The only answer that seemed to satisfy customer retention is the I am "no longer using" the service. They had answers and proposals prepped for issues around cost, quality, package mix etc. So if you need to cancel, just say you no longer use it 🤷‍♂️

    Cant remember being on the phone that long for ANYTHING in recent memory. This business is already extinct in my view, it is just the barrier to exit that is keeping them alive.

    Finally cutting the cord: Cancelling Sky TV subscription. Possible by phone only, 20min on hold and you have to navigate "customer retention" who throw every offer or curveball at you. I'm out of all my contracts by some margin, but it still took 35mins! 🙀
