These are two VERY different sentences characterizing the same story. One is a fact about what Rudy said; one assumes that what Rudy said is an accurate telling of what Mueller said. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/20/us/politics/mueller-trump-obstruction-september-giuliani.html …pic.twitter.com/FhOfnmoXXh

I point this out not to pick on any of the people involved, but to raise a larger point that I've seen some people picking at: Some are saying that Rudy's an unreliable narrator, so we should ignore him. That seems, to me, to be the wrong answer so long as he is Trump's lawyer.

His statements should be accurately presented for what they are, not more and not less, but they do matter — both as to insights regarding the president and as to his legal team's approach to things. Both of those things matter — a lot — and so reporting on them is important.

...it looks like both attribute to Rudy?

No. The second asserts as a fact that he was told that. That's the difference, it's subtle, but it matters.

...Giuliani told Haberman. Is how I'm reading the second.

This is a misunderstanding caused by the weird syntax of Twitter. Chris is reading it as a sentence ending with "Giuliani [was] told", followed by some random @'s, but it's perfectly accurate if you read it as "Giuliani told Maggie and Mike".

Reporting on them as though they were anything but propaganda is the issue. Or put another way, context matters

Plus, it seems non-sensical you can wrap up the "obstruction part" while Trump is still in a position to obstruct the ongoing investigation
