Cohen lawyers: "We have no reason to believe that Mr. Avenatti is in lawful possession of these bank records. If Mr. Avenatti wishes to be admitted pro hac vice before this Court, he should be required to explain to this Court how he came to possess and release this information."pic.twitter.com/9qsm7sAEh3

Cohen's lawyers are taking aim at a section of the Avenatti report regarding ~$20,000 in transactions at Standard Chartered Bank that have, at least partially, been disputed. They do not question the validity of the ~$1.25 million from the four companies that have been the focus.pic.twitter.com/lJibdL6hjL

JUST IN: AT&T now acknowledges that they, too, were contacted by the special counsel's office about the payments to Michael Cohen's company. They, too, say they "cooperated fully." (I asked them this last night; they declined to answer this morning.)pic.twitter.com/TtbAB5FWLI

I don't think I have ever seen an opposition to a pro hac vice motion.
-
Hi, guy who isn't a lawyer here. What does that mean?
-
A pro hac motion is a request to be allowed to practice in a court where you are not already admitted. You generally just need to show that you are in good standing in the jurisdictions where you are admitted. In my experience, granted as a matter of routine.
-
Particularly in federal court.

Due to the fact that Avenatti provided a report of his findings and subsequently, his findings were confirmed by multiple sources, his attorney’s have an issue with his appearance.
-
His appearing to have real facts, documented?
-
They have an issue with his appearance at court proceedings where the SDNY is investigating Cohen. Avenatti wanted to be able to appear because he believes that in the raid conducted, documents were obtained regarding communications between Stormy Daniels and her fmr. lawyer.

Trump claimed he didn't know any Russians and his lawyer was taking money from Russians, AT&T, Novartis while acting like a guy who would lobby Trump for them; what as nameless entities? Two ends to every transaction. AT&T gave its info to Justice. Avenatti can get from each 1?

An opposition to a pro hac motion? Really?

Right? And when did mere possession of bank records become unlawful?
