UPDATE: A person familiar with the planning tells me Schneiderman will submit a formal resignation letter to the legislature this afternoon, then Acting AG Underwood will be officially sworn in. In the meantime, she is carrying out the responsibilities of the office as acting AG.

No need for exclamation points! It is a factual statement. It is a little past lunch, not the end of the business day, so — assuming this is accurate that she is acting AG — he left office a little earlier (by like 5 hours) that he said in his statement. That's all.
