Back in NY, it looks like we get to return our focus to the always interesting New York State Legislature, which — with both chambers acting jointly — “shall appoint a person” to fill the attorney general’s position.https://codes.findlaw.com/ny/public-officers-law/pbo-sect-41.html …
The NY attorney general’s office also was already up for election this fall. The filing deadline for candidates is not until July 12 — so we almost certainly are going to see a bunch of candidates, unless the legislature happens to pick someone who can take over the field.
The real question, for starters, is how quickly will the NY legislature act? By my read of the law, they technically could appoint the person who will fill the office tomorrow, before Schneiderman even leaves the office.
Until the legislature acts, NY Solicitor General Barbara Underwood will take over as acting attorney general after Schneiderman leaves office, the NY AG’s Office confirmed late Monday night.https://www.buzzfeed.com/briannasacks/new-york-attorney-general-schneiderman-abuse …
Meanwhile Trump is still president after 19 women came forward accusing him of sexual assault.
Of course he is. Not a problem with the Republicans.
Strange... Has @DonaldJTrumpJr said a single word about this case? He's had so very much to say about Schneiderman. It's almost if he exploits abuse for political points.
Democrats: I got caught, I’ll resign. Republicans: I got caught, let’s burn this shit to the ground.
Missouri...the Show Me State
So we can't use "but Clinton" re Trump, yet "but Greitens" is totally cool for #Schneiderman? Is there something Trump & Greitens have in common that differs to say similarities between Clinton & Schneiderman? How about Nunes & Schiff? Same standards or different?
He's dead in the water. MO would be better if he resigned.
he's trying not to blink, looks like
Republicans never admit wrongdoing and then ultimately blame it on others. It’s in their DNA.
Because, he is the GOP and they have no ethics, morals or the ability to think for themselves and what might be best for their constituents. Dems demonstrate a much stronger sense of ethics. Go Dems. So says an Independent.
If he does not resign he will be impeached!
Does anyone see the difference as to how Democrats deal with sexual assault issues & how the Republicons DON'T deal with same or similar issues? (Especially Trump)
