It was a decade and two months ago that Spitzer resigned — although he’d moved up to the governor’s office by time his crisis hit. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2008/03/12/nyregion/12cnd-resign.html …pic.twitter.com/dFCdRSZN5j

Meanwhile, in Missouri, Gov. Greitens is still fighting, despite pending charges — yes, multiple, and unrelated — against him.https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/05/07/missouri-gov-greitens-accuser-in-sex-case-allowed-to-testify-at-his-trial.amp.html …
Back in NY, it looks like we get to return our focus to the always interesting New York State Legislature, which — with both chambers acting jointly — “shall appoint a person” to fill the attorney general’s position.https://codes.findlaw.com/ny/public-officers-law/pbo-sect-41.html …
The NY attorney general’s office also was already up for election this fall. The filing deadline for candidates is not until July 12 — so we almost certainly are going to see a bunch of candidates, unless the legislature happens to pick someone who can take over the field.
The real question, for starters, is how quickly will the NY legislature act? By my read of the law, they technically could appoint the person who will fill the office tomorrow, before Schneiderman even leaves the office.
Until the legislature acts, NY Solicitor General Barbara Underwood will take over as acting attorney general after Schneiderman leaves office, the NY AG’s Office confirmed late Monday night.https://www.buzzfeed.com/briannasacks/new-york-attorney-general-schneiderman-abuse …
And then Trump on Wednesday?
I'm pissed and crushed, he was the best IMO.
@Savvastzionis “strongly contest”? I much prefer a “vigorous” denial?
