Off to #SCOTUS, where Solicitor General Noel Francisco will be defending President Trump’s third attempt at a travel ban. Former acting SG @neal_katyal will argue on behalf of Hawaii and others challenging the ban. Arguments are to begin at 10a and are scheduled to last an hour.pic.twitter.com/Nkb5JqUhM6

The Supreme Court has announced that it will make the audio available today — the first time since the Obergefell marriage cases in 2015 — meaning that those outside the court should be able to listen to the arguments by mid-afternoon.

Today also is the last day for arguments this term. From here through the end of June, we’ll continue getting opinions and orders, but Trump v. Hawaii is the last case scheduled for oral argument this term.

Headed up to the courtroom. Be back around 11a with my first take out of court. #SCOTUSpic.twitter.com/6v2pRD8gq7

First take out of #SCOTUS: The court was of two minds in the travel ban case, with clear concerns about weighing into presidential prerogatives on national security but attention paid to concerns about discrimination.

I'm seeing a lot of my colleagues here at the court tweeting that they predict a victory for the government out of the arguments, but I'm not so certain I agree. I think it was less clear where they're going to end up.

Probably wishful thinking on your part. The earlier 7-2 vote portends a victory for the travel ban. My two cents.

(I'm a reporter; I don't do wishful thinking. Also: It wasn't a 7-2 vote. Two justices voiced their dissent, but justices don't have to say their vote in a stay application.)

You would agree that the two dissenters were this morning’s harshest critics of the travel ban?
