The Supreme Court has announced that it will make the audio available today — the first time since the Obergefell marriage cases in 2015 — meaning that those outside the court should be able to listen to the arguments by mid-afternoon.

Today also is the last day for arguments this term. From here through the end of June, we’ll continue getting opinions and orders, but Trump v. Hawaii is the last case scheduled for oral argument this term.

First take out of
#SCOTUS: The court was of two minds in the travel ban case, with clear concerns about weighing into presidential prerogatives on national security but attention paid to concerns about discrimination.Show this thread -
I'm seeing a lot of my colleagues here at the court tweeting that they predict a victory for the government out of the arguments, but I'm not so certain I agree. I think it was less clear where they're going to end up.

Here is the audio from Trump v. Hawaii — https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/audio/2017/17-965 … — showing how easily and quickly the Supreme Court can post same-day audio. The Chief Justice should allow same-day audio for every case next term.

Will be adding to it once I get back to the office, but I really do think there’s been a bit too much leaning into what people expect to see from the court here come decision time (a govt win). I don’t think it was clear at all.

I more interested in what SCOTUS says about nationwide injunctions by these circuit courts
-
Since you’re from Texas, are you talking about the nationwide injunctions entered against Obama and Obama officials from federal judges in Texas, or just the ones since Trump took office and judges elsewhere have done so?
-
Fair point Alll of the above. I love Obama. Texas transgender injunction was dumb, just like DOJ arguing for it with 1964 civil liberties was weak. However, this pertains to powers of the president claiming national security. We can agree that’s different.
-
It’s been going on for a while.. here is a chance for SCOTUS to set the boundaries or at least clarity
-
I doubt they will, particularly given that immigration seems like an area especially appropriate for national resolution.

You’re a good man

So you are in favor of rapist, murderers and terrorist randomly coming into the country? Would you be willing to live next to them? Maybe on your street? How about in the same building? Thats the reason Trump wants them vetted first, so that even morons like you can live safe.
