Genuinely curious about the tails. I know the tradition, but who pays for it? Does it come out of pocket? Does he get a clothing stipend? Is there an office wardrobe of loaners?
Any idea? @isamuel @danepps @FirstMondaysFM @chrisgeidnerhttps://twitter.com/katenocera/status/988567846337826816 …

No clothing stipend. But it depends. You can rent this stuff, and some do. The cool way, of course, is to get it made. Longer-term Assistants do that. I knew a guy on detail who got one argument; he rented. I bet Rosenstein also rented.

I can think of no better use of
@Twitter than to solicit obscure SCOTUS clothing facts - almost instantly - from some of my favorite reporters and podcast hosts. What a time to be alive. -
Which - side note - makes me realize that we are really dropping the ball on a potential new website: Sartorial SCOTUS - Where Menswear Meets Munsingwear. . . . Working title.

Chris--Maybe this one?
@MarciaCoyle mentions that Rosenstein's morning coat and vest were borrowed from the SG's office: https://www.law.com/nationallawjournal/2018/04/23/rod-rosensteins-borrowed-scotus-garb-was-not-bad-but-will-he-win-the-justices/ …#SCOTUS - End of conversation

It is so delightful to see interest in what a male attorney wore to court. Genuinely.
