“Really, does everybody know what that means?” Well, Trump doesn’t because he still can’t spell special counsel, let alone understand the law. Was this from Pirro, Giuliani, or what?pic.twitter.com/gDKL4xBYYk

Chris Geidner Retweeted Pwn All The Things
Also: It’s actually quite sad that I saw this tweet and knew I had to go see what Trump had tweeted.https://twitter.com/pwnallthethings/status/987530280750735360?s=21 …
Chris Geidner added,
The worst part of Trump’s tweet is actually the complete logical incongruence between the first sentence and the second. The first act, which almost certainly was not illegal, would have no bearing on the ~legality~ of the second act — even if the first were illegal.pic.twitter.com/OuRq2O2pDn
It’s almost as if whoever came up with this idea — it wasn’t Trump — is confusing the circumstances where an appointment that is determined to have been invalid can result in all of the actions that person took being declared to be void with whatever this would be.
While Comey might have been attempting to influence the chances of getting a special counsel by leaking the memo, it was a PR move. Rosenstein’s May 2017 appointment of the special counsel was not based, in fact, on that action. Legally speaking, they are not connected at all.pic.twitter.com/1j9PyNwKlF
