Update: There is no petition seeking a pardon for Scooter Libby on file with the Justice Department’s Pardon Attorney, a DOJ spokesperson tells me. This means that if it is being considered, it is not going through the normal process.

Can you clarify? Comey actually appointed Fitzgerald to investigate the Plame leak. Also, Schumer assists Comey twice in his career ascent.https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/06/fbi-nominee-james-comey-triggered-plamegate-investigation/ …

After Attorney General John Aschroft recused himself in the Valerie Plame affair in 2004, Comey appointed special counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald, who ended up convicting “Scooter” Libby, a top aide to then Vice President Dick Cheney, of perjury and obstruction of justice.
