Big thing the Boente letter tells me is that Mueller was well into the "was there obstruction?" part of his investigation by the beginning of the year.

Boente's contemporaneous notes reiterate Comey's testimony, which presumably is in his notes (& likely McCabe's notes as well). Of course it's not proof, but, given that Boente has been the one favored by Sessions and Trump, it seems notable that his account backs Comey's claim.pic.twitter.com/bZpjJQYogq

[Of course, if this is a bust and these aren't actually Boente's notes, that's going to be a disaster for Maddow—and her efforts to push back against Trump—but she knows that, so I can't imagine she'd run with this (or the NBC lawyers would) unless they were pretty damn sure.]

Less than 3 weeks after Boente informed DOJ senior officials that Mueller was asking for an interview, Boente was announced as FBI's general counsel — https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/23/politics/dana-boente-fbi/index.html … — and moved to the job the next week:https://twitter.com/ZoeTillman/status/956259615439818753 …

Hard to read much into that without knowing more — remember, we had known Boente was going to be leaving EDVA — but them's the facts!

That's actually a little disturbing. Why does she even have these documents? Was it a PIA request? Were they leaked?
