It’s actually a significant difference, it’s not exactly “hairsplitting.”

The POTUS is alleging a partisan witch hunt. Yet
#DirtyTrump fired this guy's predecessor, then broke hands-off protocol & personally interviewed this new USA for the job (interim or otherwise). It's hairsplitting to suggest "appointee" is meaningfully diff from "pick" here. -
