JUST IN: Paul Manafort's lawyer in his DC criminal case, at almost 10:30 pm tonight, filed a request to have an extension of the weekend and Monday to file his motion to suppress the evidence obtained by Mueller's team.pic.twitter.com/jAWDfUHvUs

Yeah, to be clear, there is no additional information in the filing. No sealed attachments, no information about consulting the special counsel's office, nothing. Here is the proposed order:pic.twitter.com/HAErkLMtIZ
Thoughts on this from @JoyceWhiteVance, a former federal prosecutor under Obama —>https://twitter.com/JoyceWhiteVance/status/982450753469022209 …
JUST IN: Paul Manafort's lawyer files a motion seeking to suppress evidence obtained from a storage unit, but not his residence. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4433457-Motion-to-Suppress-Storage-Locker.html …pic.twitter.com/KrU2hhCKMu
This possibility was noted by @joshgerstein earlier, and I meant to add that tweet to this thread!https://twitter.com/joshgerstein/status/982446563539800064 …
Also: In a sign that he was rushed, Manafort's lawyer misspelled "SUPRESS" in the caption of the filing. :-(pic.twitter.com/tP0AUzVzBs
It is after midnight, and Judge Amy Berman Jackson did not rule on Manafort's request for an extension of time to file a motion to suppress regarding the search of the residence. Nor did his lawyer file such a motion. So, in theory, it's now out of time.

Love the excitement for a 4a story, tbh.
HERE IT IS —> Manafort Says The FBI's Search Of A Storage Unit Was Illegal, Wants Evidence Tossedhttps://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/paul-manafort-says-the-fbi-illegally-searched-a-storage?utm_term=.gqv8nXER6 …
Color me skeptical of the argument made by Manafort's lawyers in their late Friday night filing: https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/paul-manafort-says-the-fbi-illegally-searched-a-storage?utm_term=.hlb6rQ5E8#.frvYvn1a3 …pic.twitter.com/OhQrCFVA6a
Don’t lawyers always file stuff right before deadlines?
They file the filing — not requests for extensions. If you're going to seek an extension on something that's been pending for a month, I'd think you want to do it a bit earlier.
oh, yeah! misread. That is super annoying.
Not so unusual, they met the deadline. The hearing is on the 19th, so she has time to review both sides...
Psst: Look at the tweet earlier in the thread. They're asking for an extension (as to the residence), through to Monday, with no reason given, on 1.5 hours notice.
Oh, sorry, I missed that.
ESPECIALLY without good cause or explanation, and without even articulating whether the prosecution was notified and consented. Anything filed under seal that maybe will give her more context?
The motion doesn't refer to anything else (other than the proposed order)...
Not that unusual to make a last-minute request to extend time. This one asks for just a few days. Any indication the judge has seen the moton or acted on it? Any opposition to the motion filed?
Generally, unless something unexpected occurred, a last second request is poor form. Did he not know yesterday that he might need a couple more days? How about at noon today?
