I think this is the first DOJ document we know of that uses a variant of the word "collusion" in connection with the Russia probe.https://twitter.com/nycsouthpaw/status/981023752405356545 …

I can’t decide how much significance to put on it. They might have stuck with Comey’s language and said “whether any crimes were committed in connection w links or coordination btw Manafort and Russian officials...” but didn’t. idk if the change in nomenclature means anything.
It *could* be that the more particular allegation reflects some level of confidence that Manafort had a hand in the 2016 interference, and what remained to be determined was what crimes to charge (if any). Or it could just be a list of possibilities to check out. Idk
All fair. Obviously, seeing the rest would help us make some determinations.
Keep in mind that it's possible--likely even--that this August memo has been superseded.
I think this is more a warning shot...they haven’t publicly stated that they are investigating Manafort for this charge specifically. It is pretty strongly worded response.
This is from this ~past~ August.
Page 17 (tonight) states that part of that memorandum from August was classified (scope). I do not recollect seeing Manafort being investigated for collusion be referenced publicly before. I may be wrong.
Yes. I don’t think she means it’s significant in that it proves anything; just noting it’s the first official use of the term.
