Sorta shocking that Reinhardt, Posner, and Kozinski — who were all appeals court judges with outsized, national reputations — all left the bench within a 7-month period.

This is not good... gives Trump a chance to ruin one of the best progressive Fed court districts in nation. This is a loss to nation and justice.

What, exactly, is your definition of "best"?

Article says “his death was unexpected” he was 87!!! Why didn’t he retire under obama???!!
-
McConnell refused to hold votes on a bunch of Obama appointees for judges the last couple of years of his presidency. That’s why Trump has been able to get so many judges appointed.
-
He was 87,even if he had retired 10 years ago when obama had both chambers,he would have been 77. That’s longer than most people work and it’s a very full and distinguished career.Sorry but blaming McConnell et al isn’t what’s going to get us out of this mess.though it feels good
-
I hear in your tweets a bit of blaming a dead man who served admirably for a long time bc he didn’t choose to retire when you thought he should have. Smh
-
Also, how should he have known 10 years ago that McConnell was to block Senate hearings on judicial appointees? It had never been done before.
-
Which is precisely why Ruth Bader Ginsberg is still hanging on. A Republican Senate was never going to let Obama have more than 2 Supreme Court nominees. They certainly weren’t going to let him replace a conservative.
-
Gingsberg is so old I've often heard her called Ruth "Vadar" Ginsberg.
