"This is a local matter," @PressSec says of Anton Sterling and Stephon Clark police-shooting deaths. "Not something for the federal government to weigh in on." CONTRAST:pic.twitter.com/7BlrmbGuig

Yes, federal immigration laws and federal firearm laws exist. So do federal civil rights laws. These are choices.

Law enforcement is a part of the US criminal justice system. Trump just does not want to address these issues because he does not care.

That calls for a person w/no weapon to be shot 20x? The penalty doesn’t fit the crime!

Allegedly breaking windows, running through yards, and hopping fences are now "felonies" justifying deadly force? Care to cite where that appears in the penal code?

Again, the rule only justifies force in the event of a witnessed felony. You've cited no felonies where this justification is applicable.

The question turns on whether the use of force was justified in these cases - I don’t think it was (and there is definitely going to be federal lawsuits so I guess we will see what a jury decides).

No worries, the distinction is that police officers in the performance of their official duties cannot violate rights guaranteed by the US constitution. In excessive force cases that’s typically the fourth amendment.
