I'm sorry, but absolutely a thousand times no! Reform, yes. Repeal? Why don't you take away my right to free speech and religion while you're at it!?

Without the ability to defend yourself, your other rights will be taken away too.

Please stop saying this. It’s nonsense. Your gun isn’t preventing tyranny. Sincerely, a (multiple) gun owner. (That said: repealing the 2A is also nonsense. We can have reform without repeal.)
-
It's not the gun that prevents tyranny but the people wielding the guns. If not prevent they can oppose it with a fighting chance instead of simply being herded and executed as has happened in the past and present when people were not permitted to own firearms.

If you throw out the 2nd you gotta throw it all out

guess that's takes away the first amendment where you can't say whatever you feel like whenever you want ... including this post without government approval -
This makes no sense whatsoever. We have repealed one amendment, and many of the amendments effectively repealed parts of the Constitution itself.
-
We repealed the prohibition of alcohol, which was an infringement on liberty to prohibit. Prohibition of guns would be a similar infringement
-
Mmmyeah but ya can't murder a class of students with alcohol in under 10 seconds so I mean it's a moot point
-
Which is why we need reform, but not removal.
-
Repealing the 2nd doesn't automatically mean prohibition. At least it shouldn't. I'd like to think people aren't hoping to repeal and replace the 2nd with an amendment prohibiting any ownership, but I've been wrong before .
-
I mean, it's worth noting that Canada doesn't have a 2nd Amendment, but technically guns are still allowed in most open and rual locations - we just can write local bylaws restricting or outlawing them in cities, and add gun controls keeping them to gun ranges, registries...
-
Interesting to know! Do cities allow guns in personal property? Like a home?

I’m going to categorize this “Unlikely”.

Oh I'm sure there'd be more than one. Or did you ask every gun owner in Wyoming and they all told you that? You're conflating repeal of 2A with gun confiscation. You're also suggesting people would be as brave IRL as they are online

-
Funny how many people who are obsessed about the sacredness of the second amendment happily claim they would break the law and violently take on the government if
#2A was repealed.#GunControlNow

As much of a proponent of gun control as I am, I’m not sure repealing is a great idea. It is in the Bill of Rights after all

How many centuries old laws are still observed in England?
-
I don’t know. But they may be no brainer things like don’t hurt the queen.
