I don’t know why this bugs me so much but it does: when a book becomes a movie and then that book is reprinted with the movie poster as the cover art.pic.twitter.com/3zkC9Aa4LZ

Thanks to you I read way before it became a movie!
You all have time to read outside of work. Jealous.
I don’t really but am going on vacation in a week and would like to fit in a book or two during that time
inserting myself to offer an unsolicited opinion
if you liked CMBYN try The Heart’s Invisible Furies
I need a book for vacation thank you
But, artistically, I agree with Kyle: It adds something from beyond the book itself and forces you into certain perceptions of characters — not necessarily the same as you would have done on your own.
Yes, I generally agree. Valid points all!
I hate when I delay picking up a book, and it then has a movie cover before I knew it’d be a movie out in 6 months.
God forbid a broader audience is exposed to a work and an author or artist. No, it should just be a special thing for those who got there first. The enlightened, the special, and you wonder why acceptance isn't everywhere.
"..you can see who only got the book after the movie!" You pretentious princess. "Well, I read it before the movie" "Well, I read the galleys" "Well, I read his first draft" Well, I stole the typewriter ribbon out of his trash and read it by unspooling it"
Me too!!! The book was first dammit!! This makes people say “it was a book first?” Even more often
