There is much more to be said on this — and I know each individual has different reasoning behind their position — but that broad brush sums up my concerns with these topics.

Before, women, black people, other minorities, queer people, etc, were just kept out of the markets/discussions. Now that those groups are finding their way in, they’re — frontally and out in the open — fighting back to, in their view, correct earlier market/discourse errors.

Do efforts go too far/fight too aggressively at times? Probably. But it seems to me that these concerns often ignore the earlier efforts to keep out views — which were much more systemic and far-reaching, with longer-lasting effects, than many of the criticized efforts today.
