How did THREE BILLBOARDS get made? It’s such a bad, tone-deaf movie. Why would you make a movie in which racial discrimination by a police officer is a literal punchline at points?

(Yeah, a thread going back and forth between billboard and figure skating is weird. SORRY.)

I honestly wanted to leave after Dixon ... went across the street. That was when the movie went from bad to worse for me, and it never recovered. I tried to watch to enjoy McDormand, but even that was tough at points.

So you don’t recommend the billboard movie, then?
-
It’s very bad.
-
you're in the (very small) minority
-
Lol. No I’m not.

Wow, having just entered the universe yesterday, I had no idea the movie had achieved successes. There is a significant amount of criticism of the film, which kept me from it, but I broke down and saw it tonight and it was far worse than I expected.
-
it's okay to admit you're wrong, Chris.

That's a perfect review of Three Billboards -- so, so off -- "a mess."
-
Oh. Looking at your bio, I can’t even imagine you getting through it.

The Police Chief having a British wife was an interesting detail.
-
The whole thing was such a mess that it was hard to know if that mattered, was intended, was incidental, or just sorta happened because of casting.
-
Heaviosity. That it had.
