FWIW, 15 of the biggest 16 payments from the Trump campaign over the final quarter of 2017 went to lawyers — Jones Day or McDermott Will & Emery — or Brad Parscale's digital consulting firm. https://projects.propublica.org/itemizer/filing/1204566/schedule/sb …pic.twitter.com/plXq4OoUnF

More than $825,000 went to Jones Day — the law firm where White House counsel Don McGahn (and many others in the administration) practiced before joining the White House (or elsewhere in the administration).

More than $200,000 went to McDermott Will & Emery. More than $1 million went to Parscale Strategy LLC.

The Trump campaign also paid more than $30,000 in legal fees to LaRocca Hornik Rosen Greenberg & Blaha LLP, more than $20,000 to Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP, and $10,000 to Wiley Rein LLP.

So, more than $1 million in legal fees and $1 million in digital consulting fees paid out in the last quarter of 2017 — Trump's first year in office and not even a congressional election year.

That means more than $1 million in legal fees and $1 million in digital consulting fees were paid out in the last quarter of 2017.

I get that, but why is it pertinent?

Because it's information, and I'm collecting and sharing that publicly available information in a more accessible way than a chart, because I'm a journalist and that's my job. [This is my last tweet to you unless you have a point beyond trolling.]

Not trolling, just questioning, that's all.

I don't understand how a reporter compiling information and detailing it to people in a few tweets confuses you as to the purpose. It's pretty direct.

Maybe I'm wrong, but context seems to be missing here. Presidential campaign legal spending has been growing over the years. Obama and McCain together spent more than twice of what Kerry and George W. Bush paid. Obama was still paying legal debt from 2012 in 2015.

We are a highly litigious society and it is no wonder that those in power spend enormous amounts on legal fees.

Yes, that's why this was 5 tweets. Not an extensive report.

No worries, I'm probably over-reacting somewhere due to all the pile up on Trump, even though he's no really my favorite.
