CMBYN is my favorite film of the year, but Nolan’s direction was sublime, and that line-up is one of the all time great director line-ups!

Nolan’s direction is always going to be sublime. It was his least interesting film. (Offhand, not reviewing his entire filmography right now.) Luca did something singular with CMBYN — and did it so well.

Agree Luca did something amazing with CMBYN, but obviously all things are subjective - but Nolan was at his MOST interesting with Dunkirk (from@a directorial standpoint).

Idk, I thought Dunkirk was spectacularly directed. I still need to see Phantom Thread and Shape of Water, but I'm actually okay with this list.
