Why is MTP tweeting this quote out like this? It’s so misleading that Chuck Todd didn’t even let him proceed. This tweet literally eliminates the context that Todd gave calling out this absurd line. Putting the video is fine, but the text allows the ridiculous claim to spread.https://twitter.com/meetthepress/status/955102316612472832 …

WHY
@chucktodd did this is a mystery to those of us who saw the entire interaction. What say you, Chuck? How is this responsible journalism? -
Huh? Chuck was right to push back. It was a laughable claim. My issue is that the tweet removed his pushback and let Short’s claim get the full quote, without Todd’s interruption.
-
I was agreeing with you completely. Sorry if my statement wasn’t clear.

He didn’t even push back to the extent you did in your tweet
-
I mean, there’s a reason why I’m not on TV. But, he did push back, and they literally deleted that to tweet out Short’s absurd claim.
-
Yes agreed, it’s a bad clip job and misleading for sure. But Todd left A LOT on the table as far as push back. Which is sadly par for the course

Doesn't the end of the tweet do that though? Like, "paid for by Donald J. Trump for president" is the context Chuck added. I dunno
-
I guess that's fair? I can see how it might go over some readers' heads. I initially read it as a direct rebuke though.

MSNBC does that often especially in the bottom crawler during shows.
