Shorter Sen. Kamala Harris: "All that said, when do you think I should launch my 2020 campaign, Sec. Nielsen?"
-

People interpreted your tweet as a negative one. And it's a reasonable interpretation. Stop gaslighting people. If you meant something "positive," then say exactly what you meant.
-
I’m not “gaslighting” people, and many of the people who saw the tweet took it exactly how I meant it, so, no.
-
What did you mean? Please explain.
-
I was not poking fun at anything. I thought they were self-assured comments from someone who came across to me as nearly ready to launch a presidential run. My intent was to highlight her comments, not attack them.
-
YOU DIDN'T ACTUALLY REPORT HER COMMENTS. YOU JUST MOCKED THEM. You relayed literally none of her words, none of her actions during the exchange. So how is that "highlighting" them?
-
I wasn’t mocking, regardless of if you put it in all caps or not. If you don’t want me to believe you, you need not do so. You don’t follow me, so you have no understanding of my history or approach to writing, reporting, analysis, Twitter, etc. I can only tell you what I have.
-
So wait, only people who follow you are allowed to call you out? You do understand how Twitter works, right? That when you make a shitty comment, people are not required to have an MA in your work to criticize it?
-
No, obviously not, as I’ve spent the past two hours responding to people — including you. So, obviously that is not why I’m saying.

You made it exceptionally clear that you thought she was putting on a show to promote herself. You assumed her insincerity and conniving ambition rather than, gee I don't know, that she might actually give a shit about DREAMers. And you did it to the only WOC on that panel.
-
Literally not one other Senator up there—some of whom are also '20/'24 contenders—got this sneering, sarcastic response from you. Only Harris. And we see you doing it.
-
You obviously don’t know me. It wasn’t sarcastic or sneering. You’ve literally read that into my tweet, despite having no apparent knowledge of me or my reporting.
-
You dismissed the ENTIRETY of Harris's exchange with Nielsen—none of which you actually relayed—as her positioning herself for '20. I read your tweet, not into it.https://twitter.com/chrisgeidner/status/953323683220729856 …

There is so much wrong with his entire tweet and replies...if he copies/pastes his rebuttal one more time... It's as though he doesn't even want to acknowledge someone else's perspective.
