WHAT ELSE HAVEN’T I BEEN TOLD?!? We grew corn and okra in my family childhood garden but never pineapple...though probably could have in Louisiana.

Funny to see your exchange tonight as I had seen a TV show briefly this evening and saw a hand pull a peanut plant from the ground. Had never realized that peanuts grew beneath the soil like potatoes. We have a walnut tree and I had always thought peanuts came from trees as well.

i guess it's all about the mass transportation and now globalization of foodstuffs - people are eating foods they'll never have a chance to see growing in real life.

Yeah! Like, we went to an apple tree farm as kids — and strawberry fields and pumpkin fields — but, I’d never have a thought of a pineapple’s way of growing, let alone seeing it!

Artichokes if you don't cut them down in their prime and steam them with a nice vinaigrette:pic.twitter.com/2noeFd4ke2
