The "Was Tulsi Gabbard a hero or a serious danger?" storyline today is VERY INTERESTING.

Gabbard (Senator and major in the Hawaii Army National guard) is criticized for not following "protocol"? Or is it really for being a woman who didn't ask for permission when she dared to take decisive action and serve her constituents when other gov elements failed them?

[She's a House member, not a senator, and, no, I don't think it is.]

Ahhh whoops. Thanks for the correction on the house member bit. But seriously, is there protocol in place for this exact situation? If I were her constituent, I'd be very grateful she did this rather than wait for others to get their act together.

I get that there is a debate — and I understand why people are glad that she did what she did — but I think the counter-argument is an important one to consider and think about going forward.
