The "Was Tulsi Gabbard a hero or a serious danger?" storyline today is VERY INTERESTING.

He didn’t have the same to say about the male members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation
-
Did any other members tweet about it before official statements were released? (Also: There is only one male member of Hawaii’s congressional delegation.)
-
I saw
@brianschatz tweeted about it -
His first tweet was literally a message to retweet the state’s response, so (1) he waited for an official response, and (2) he deferred to the officials involved to provide the initial clarification before raising his own questions.https://twitter.com/brianschatz/status/952245194384072704 …
-
As I said earlier, it was 6 minutes difference
-
Do you not understand that the differences are literally the entire basis of his criticism?
-
6 minutes difference between her and
@brianschatz, one minute between her first tweet and her retweet of Hawaii EMA. That's basically simulataneous, it was he next tweet. She honestly did exactly the same thing Schatz did, but faster. -
You repeating the same thing and ignoring the distinctions — even as you acknowledge them — shows that this conversation has ended its utility. Have a good night.

No fan of Gabbard and I think keeping to procedure is important to avoid precisely the runaway nuke panic scenario. But the only reason why this is a problem at all is because the 'proper' authorities fucked it up. The ultimate blame lies solely with them.
-
I mean, it’s clearly a side storyline, but, given other times that Gabbard has freelanced, it seems a relevant side storyline.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/26/tulsi-gabbard-bashar-al-assad-syria-democrats …

this guy is full of shit. the chain of command needs to be respected when a ballistic missile is incoming. but when a false alarm causes mass hysteria, they dont possess all the authority. and it's a good thing too, because they didn't do a good job

I'd say he would have a point if it weren't for thirty eight minutes. That was a member of Congress doing her job and providing a check on a failure in the executive branch (be it state or federal).

He's right. She has no role in EM and should leave it to others. And then not go on TV and make excuses for the State of Hawaii.
