Literally (assuming Walmart follows through on its release), 100 percent of the people who are getting this bonus are getting $1,000. That's an average bonus of ... $1,000, not $266 dollars.

It refers to it as “a one-time cash bonus for eligible associates of up to $1,000” up top in the release — “up to” — so I think you’re reading it incorrectly.
