I've just started "Giovanni's Room"—have "Go Tell It on the Mountain" in the (close-to-toppling) pile of books on my bedroom floor, and "Another Country" now on my list.

All are must-reads. The “Nobody Knows My Name” collection of essays, which I read one at a time and finished over the summer, contains so much of interest — and topical to today. Of your specific interests, it includes an Ingmar Bergman profile! It’s a wild collection.
