In any event, 2,741 days later, I’m grateful for my sobriety, my family and friends, and for all of you folks — who read and share and talk with me about the strange variety of things, including my life, that I write about on here. Y’all are great.
As a dear friend just reminded me, I am a sap. As such I am completely overwhelmed with the moving responses tonight. You all truly are amazing. Seek help if you need it, and, if you don’t, support your friends who might!
For now, though [and with that grammatically improved tweet put in place], I am off to bed. ... Night, all, and let us be good to one another — and ourselves.

Congratulations on 7.5 years!
and thank you for sharing.
I’m opening up to this. Not moderating very well.
I wish my brother was comfortable talking about his addiction. He relapsed and then eventually killed himself. I wish I could’ve done more for him. I wish you the best in continued sobriety.
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your story. You have no idea how much I needed to read this today. Congratulations on your sobriety.
Woot Woot!! Good stuff, Chris. I'm 6 years, 11/7/11. I checked into rehab completely plastered. 30 days later, checked out knowing I was lucky to be alive. Thanks for sharing your story. Do the next right thing.
Someone close to me quit nearly 20 years ago. Now very successful and a sponsor to many. Congratulations to you.
Congrats Chris. If you're a veteran, go to a local VA hospital and ask for help. It worked for me on 9-24-2008.
