Pentagon spokesperson tells me: "The DoD is preparing to access transgender applicants beginning Jan 1 in accordance with the federal court ruling." — but has not confirmed whether that means there are no further stay requests coming. DOJ won't say either.

If there is no further action to stay the district court injunction in Stone v. Trump, that would mean the Jan. 1 date would stand — and trans people could seek to join the military starting in the new year (if they meet the criteria laid out by the military).
