UPDATE: Lawyer for the plaintiffs,
@deepakguptalaw, says "There is no question that there will be an appeal" of today's Emoluments decision. DOJ, meanwhile, "appreciates" today's ruling. https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/federal-court-dismisses-case-claiming-that-trumps-ongoing?utm_term=.hcXldXeOY#.luyAvDxGX …pic.twitter.com/FapGMPJlI3

If we lose the courts as a stop against him, we're in trouble since we know Congress is in his pocket. This is very concerning.

Hey, I think Trump is emolumenty af. But from a constitutional law standpoint this suit was hopeless.
-
Can you explain, for those of us who have no legal background?
-
It’s a question of who enforces the Constitution against the President. If anybody could just file a lawsuit on the grounds the President has acted unconstitutionally he’d be buried in litigation. The Court seems to say Emoluments is Congress’s to enforce.
-
This is consistent wit decades of precedent. Like I say, it’s not the result I would wish for here but the law is for the moment still the law.

Great. This is purely a legal question, time for appeal to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeal.
