Fox contributor floats conspiracy theory that the FBI might have planned to assassinate Donald Trump: http://mm4a.org/ZML  / In addition to the assassination plot ridiculousness, the only way he gets there is by totally misstating the underlying message.pic.twitter.com/K19IDljcPg

Unless someone's operating in complete bad faith, how could they read this detail as anything other than Strzok saying: "Sh*t, if Trump becomes president, we'd better damn well move this investigation into the likelihood that the Russians have leverage over him forward quick?"

The formulation accepts the possibility that Trump *will* be elected. It's clear from other details that the text was part of an exchange about how quickly an *already existing* investigation needed to move.

The context makes it clear that Strzok's 'insurance policy' is about whether they continue at the "expecting Hillary" pace, or ramp up the urgency so they can better understand how compromised Trump is if he wins.

Did Strzok have reason to assume that an incoming Trump admin might do whatever it could to hinder or shut down such an investigation ASAP? I think we have ample proof that his hunch was right.
