Why do people think this? I honestly don’t get it. There are more liberals willing this idea into existence by virtue of their saying it than there are Jeanine Pirro and that guy in a bad-fitting suit on Fox News saying it.https://twitter.com/espinsegall/status/942448758003990528 …

Oh, and just a minor fourth point: Remember that line from the NYT story about Pirro eventually going on too long on an anti-Mueller “screed” in a meeting with Trump even for him and him just walking out? That.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/09/us/politics/donald-trump-president.html …

In any event, my point is not to say that Trump will not ever fire Robert Mueller — that’s always been a possibility. My point is that I do not see anyone making any actual argument that has convinced me that this is something currently being considered.

Finally, if you’ve not read it: My story about the Trump campaign lawyer’s Saturday letter regarding transition emails, the career GSA lawyer’s comments to me, and a late-night Special Counsel’s Office statement.https://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner/the-trump-campaign-claims-a-federal-office-illegally-turned …

Rebuttal: it’s always smart to attack from multiple angles. If he can exclude it from evidence maybe that’s enough. But if he can’t then he may decide that he needs to end the investigation.

The fact that he sent this to congress rather than the courts tell me he doesn’t think he can actually exclude them. Is simply trying to justify firing

It's smoke for a spark-less fire they're complaining about. It's propaganda for Faux News.

But does mentioning Fourth Amendment in this letter count for much when arguments aren't made to court that could actually look into this and rule on this?

You’re assuming Trump would agree to a strategy and then never do anything to undermine it. He continuously reacts based on emotion, not logic. And he certainly never seems bound by any agreements he’s made with someone who works for him.

Also, doesn’t he have to be fired for cause? What cause is there? And Mueller van dispute it in court, too? What would be reveled there? Would Mueller get to make the case that I have x evidence on him which is why he fired me?

Is there a line of succession trump must go through to fire Mueller?
